HILINK: Real-time Hardware-in-the-loop Control Platform for Matlab/Simulink
The HILINK platform offers a seamless interface between physical plants and Matlab/Simulink for implementation of hardware-in-the-loop real-time control systems. It is fully integrated into Matlab/Simulink and has a broad range of inputs and outputs. It allows quick test and iteration of control strategies in real-time with a real plant in the loop. The platform is a complete and low-cost real-time control system development package for both educational and industrial applications.
Magnetic Levitation System
The electromagnetic levitation system controls the magnetic field generated by an electromagnet to levitate a small magnet in midair. The small magnet levitates in the air indefinitely without any disturbance. The vertical position of the levitating magnet is measured using a linear Hall effect sensor and the current in the electromagnet is controlled using a digital signal controller.
RAPCON: Real-time Rapid Control Prototyping Platform for Matlab/Simulink
The RAPCON platform is a high performance real-time rapid control prototyping system for Matlab/Simulink. It achieves real-time operation with sampling rates up to 15.2 kHz. The hardware of the RAPCON platform has 8 analog inputs, 2 capture inputs, 2 encoder inputs, 8 digital inputs, 2 analog outputs, 2 frequency outputs, 2 pulse outputs and 8 digital outputs. The board also contains two H-bridges with 5 A capability to drive external heavy loads. The platform is ideal for implementation of hardware-in-the-loop real-time control systems in both educational and industrial applications.
Maglev Plus System
The Maglev Plus System is specifically designed to levitate various non-magnetic objects attached to a very strong disc magnet. It can levitate up to 25 g additional mass. The vertical position of the levitating magnet is measured using a linear Hall effect sensor and the current in the electromagnet is controlled using a digital signal controller. The system has three push buttons to configure the system to achieve stable levitation with different additional weights. Two of the push buttons are used to change the controller parameters and the third one is used to save the current controller parameters into the nonvolatile flash memory of the microcontroller.
